River Styx 107 / for The River Styx literary magazine. Text, and binding design; composition and typesetting; production and print management.

For this revival of the River Styx’s print edition, I designed a classic text treatment to work with their mix of poetry, short fiction, and essays. I also managed the printing, with the cover printed locally at Container Corps in silver ink on black paper, and the book block printed (and the whole thing bound up) by Versa Press in Illinois. Cover illustration by Karborn.

5.5 x 8.5 in, 176 pages, perfect-bound paperback.

Front cover. Illustration by Karborn.

To best serve the one-color cover illustration, we printed the covers in metallic ink on black cover stock.

One of the essays incorporated imagery and unconventional typesetting.
