Mud Ride is a the autobiography of musician Steve Turner, best known as the guitarist for Mudhoney.

The publisher used some of the collages as part of their social media graphics.
I created irreverent and variable chapter opener designs using blown-up faux-halftones of photos from the book, which included family snapshots as well as iconic live photography from the Seattle grunge years.
In addition to the chapter openers, I created a few of these “graphic interruptions” to push a chapter to end on a spread. This was a fun way to be part of the production process as well as the design process.
